Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-01-03

This Privacy Policy describes how Body Battery (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use:

  • the Body Battery iOS application (the “App”), and
  • our public website and support pages, including the Support & feedback form (together, the “Services”).

We want this document to be clear and easy to read. If anything is not clear, you can always contact us through the Support & feedback page and we will be happy to explain it in simple language.

1. Health data from Apple Health

1.1. How Body Battery uses Apple Health data

Body Battery reads certain metrics from Apple Health, such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), wrist temperature, breathing rate, blood oxygen, sleep, steps, and active energy. The App combines these metrics into a daily Energy Level score and simple tiles that show whether today looks very low, low, normal, high, or very high compared with your personal baseline.

This processing happens on your device. We do not run our own servers that store your Apple Health data for this App.

1.2. What we do not do with your health data

The App is intentionally designed so that we do not upload your Apple Health data to our own servers. Specifically, we do not:

  • Ask you to create an online account for Body Battery.
  • Send your Apple Health metrics to our own backend services for storage or profiling.
  • Sell or rent your health data to advertisers or data brokers.

You stay in control of which health categories the App can read. You can change or revoke permissions at any time in the Apple Health app.

1.3. Information you choose to provide when you contact us

When you use the Support & feedback form on our website, you can choose to share some basic contact information so that we can respond, such as:

  • Your name (optional).
  • Your email address.
  • The subject and content of your message.

We use this information only to understand your request, reply to you, and improve the App and Services. We do not use support messages for marketing campaigns, and we do not sell or rent this information to anyone.

1.4. Information from app stores and operating systems

Apple and other platform providers may share with us high-level, aggregated statistics about how many people install or use the App, crash summaries, and similar technical information. This data is provided through their own dashboards and tools. It does not give us direct access to your name, contact details, or any information that directly identifies you.

For more details about how Apple processes your data, please see Apple’s own privacy documentation available from Apple.

2. How we use information

Because we collect very little information, our uses of information are also limited. We use information for the following purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the App and Services, including making sure they display correctly and are secure.
  • To respond to messages you send through the Support & feedback form.
  • To understand in a broad, aggregated way how many people use the App, so we can decide what to improve next.

We do not use any information we have to create marketing profiles or to send you newsletters or general advertising messages.

3. Advertising and third-party partners

Body Battery does not show in‑app advertising and does not use advertising SDKs inside the App.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your Apple Health data with advertisers or data brokers. Our main third-party partners are platform providers such as Apple, who give us aggregated statistics and crash reports about how the App is used.

3.1. Subscription and payment processing

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and entitlements for the App. RevenueCat processes certain purchase-related and device information on our behalf so we can verify purchases, unlock paid features, reconcile billing, detect fraud, and provide aggregated analytics about subscriptions.

Examples of data that may be processed by RevenueCat include an app user identifier or Customer ID, purchase receipts, transaction metadata, device identifiers (for example, advertising identifier), and IP address. RevenueCat processes this information according to their privacy policy: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Legal basis: where applicable, processing is necessary for performance of a contract (providing your paid subscription). For limited analytics that do not identify you, we rely on our legitimate interest to improve the App.

International transfers: RevenueCat is based in the United States and may transfer or store data outside your country. Where required by law, we will rely on appropriate safeguards or a Data Processing Agreement with RevenueCat; contact us via the Support & feedback page to request a copy of our DPA or to ask questions about cross-border transfers.

If you want to request access, correction, or deletion of subscription data that RevenueCat holds on our behalf, please contact us using the Support & feedback page and include enough information for us to identify your subscription (for example, the App Store receipt or the Customer ID). We will then request deletion or take other actions with RevenueCat and confirm back to you.

4. Data retention

Because we do not run our own user accounts or health data databases for the App, we generally do not keep ongoing records about individual users of the App itself.

For subscription and payment information, retention is governed by RevenueCat's policies and by App Store / payment provider rules. If you need specific retention details, contact us via the Support & feedback page and we will request the exact retention period from RevenueCat.

When you contact us through the Support & feedback form, we keep your message and our reply in our communication tools (for example, in our email inbox) for as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and keep a basic history of past issues. If you would like us to delete a specific support message, you can ask us to do so and we will review and act on that request where possible.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we handle, such as restricting access to support messages to the people who need it. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.

6. Children’s privacy

Body Battery is not designed for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us using the details below so we can review the situation.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights under local data protection laws. Because we collect very little information, many of these rights will not apply in practice, but in general you can:

  • Ask us what information we have about you from support requests.
  • Ask us to correct or delete that information where appropriate.
  • Control how your device uses advertising identifiers and tracking through your system settings.

To exercise your rights (access, correction, deletion, objection, or data portability), contact us using the Support & feedback page. For subscription-related records held by RevenueCat, include your App Store receipt or Customer ID if possible so we can locate the data and coordinate with RevenueCat to fulfil your request.

If you contact us about your privacy rights, we may need to ask you for a small amount of information to confirm that we are speaking to the right person before we act on your request.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how Body Battery handles information, you can reach us using our support form. This helps us keep all requests in one place and lets you choose the best email address for our reply.

Visit the Support & feedback page and send us a short message describing your question. If your request concerns subscription data held by RevenueCat, please include the App Store receipt or any Customer ID you have available to help us locate the record quickly.
